Reading Comprehension
Packets - Guided Reading Lesson Plans
|
Our site now includes comprehension packets that can be
used for reading classes including guided reading. These are
for books at many levels including chapter books. It
includes activities that incorporate the needed skills to
improve reading comprehension such as making predictions,
increasing vocabulary, using context clues, and making
inferences. Students will have the opportunity to break
apart vocabulary words by recognizing prefixes, suffixes,
and root words.
They will also answer comprehension questions. Students
should be required to use detailed and descriptive sentences
in their answers. Many of these books go with books that can
be found in your local or school library. They can be used
by anyone including teachers, home-schoolers, or parents.
The books include fiction and nonfiction selections. Some
packets also include fillers such as word searches for when
you are working with a group for those early finishers.
Graphic organizers are also included to help students keep
their work organized. Many of these packets require students
to recognize story elements including character names,
setting, plot, etc. |
