Science on Skeletal
Bones
|
In this science lesson, students will have the opportunity to learn names of
bones of many parts of the human body, learn importance of the skeleton and how
it helps the body function, learn that bones that are healthy became fully-grown
and strong, students will learn that the skeleton protects important organs of
our bodies, students learn to put a skeleton together to create a full human
body.
The Bone Known
Lesson #2: 1/2 Grade Science on Skeletal Bones
Concept: Bones of the Human Skeleton
Instructional Objectives:
1 . Learn names of bones of many parts of the human body.
2. Learn importance of the skeleton and how it helps the body function.
3. Learn that bones that are healthy became fully-grown and strong.
4. Students will learn that the skeleton protects important organs of our
bodies.
5. Students learn to put a skeleton together to create a full human body.
Materials:
1. Human body (ourselves) moving around and standing in a large area with
individual space.
2. Skeletal/bones jokes
3. Paper Skeleton Pieces
4. Metal Spinner clasps
5. Scissors
6. Glue
Procedure:
1. Discussion and introduction of bones questions: What builds strong bones?
-Milk. Can anyone tell me what Popeye the Sailor Man eats? -Spinach.
2. Tell them more about previous questions.
3. Play "Simon Says" Game with bone parts and collapsing example and then talk
about this experience.
4. Tell some Bone Jokes.
5. Tell and show how the skeletal parts protect the important organs in our
bodies.
6. Explain how to and them make Paper Skeletons with clasps, glue, scissors, and
skeleton paper.
Evaluation:
By taking mental notes and from class discussion, "Simon Says" Game, and by
pointing to the correct area on the body the teacher can evaluate. |
